SMS Text Messaging Brings Hawks and Thrashers Fans Closer

The Atlanta Thrashers and Atlanta Hawks' collaboration this season with FanDrive Media to incorporate Short Message Service (SMS) technology into the game experience has enabled fans to connect with the teams and each other on a whole new level via text messaging. Launched in the fall of 2005, both teams have garnered significant response rates from fans with the Thrashers averaging 2,000 responses per game, with a season-high 2,600 at the teams' regular-season home finale this past Saturday, April 15, while Hawks fans have submitted an average of 1,000 texts per game.
